And he brought out a loaf of bread.
And said to the girl..
“Take this bread, that’s what i brought for you as your birthday gift”

The girl got angry immediately and was highly disappointed at her boyfriend.
She grabbed the bread and threw it away in anger.

The boyfriend also got disappointed and he rushed to pick up the bread.
He opened the bread in front of his girlfriend,

There was a car key and an engagement ring inside the bread.

I was 15 years when i started my love with Sarah. She was 14 years by that time. I felt attracted to her and loved her and in return she paid me her love in full.
We could go together at school, but at home our parents did not want our relationship because first of all we were young and again our families had conflicts. But we promised each other never to be apart.
We never had sex that’s why i tell young girls that someone who loves you should be patient but not forcing you.
We kept our love for one more year and due to increasing wars in our country their family went to a refugee camp from Mogadishu to Northern Kenya.
She came to me and told me they are leaving,
I reminded her of what she promised that she’ll never leave me.
She replied me that this is beyond her control but promised me again she’ll be back.
We hugged each other, kissed each other as we cried saying goodbye.
But we both had hope of meeting each other again.
Soon after their departure, in the news, the two cars carrying refugees were hit by a bombs and no one survived.
When i heard that Sarah was dead, all my hope was gone.
I cried and cried remembered her last kiss and hug i thought i had nothing good to live for.
My parents tried to give me counseling but failed. I couldn’t eat or sleep and when i’d feel am about to die i would take a cup of milk or water and kept my life though this happened for like two weeks
.We fear Jinnes (ghosts) but i wished she could come as a ghost and say the last word to me.I wished that at-least if i had left Somalia and gone with her you never know i’d have done something to save her.
I never fell in love again because of her memories i prayed to Allah (God) to remove her from my mind but it failed.
After my Education by that time i was 20 years i left for a job in Nairobi Kenya, i worked for days, weeks and months.
After one and a half years, i was at my workshop and saw someone passing on the road.
She was someone i knew but i lost my senses to know who she’s cos to me Sarah was dead.
I kept looking at her went outside and reached near her but feared to say something to her.
She then looked at someone starring at her and turned around when she saw me i saw joy covering her face.
I couldn’t wait her to reach me but went running to meet her, hold her and let her inside where i worked.
Everybody wondered how happy i was that day cos i was never ever happy since the last five years.
I asked her: we were told you died in a bomb blast
.Sarah: we were in three trucks and ours was spared the bombs hit the other two.
Then me: why didn’t you come back as you promised?
Sarah: my dad after six months got a job in Nairobi and i had no transport to take me back and as you know he can’t give it to me cos he is not interested in our love but i knew one day we will meet that’s why i kept ur heart.
I asked her: whats next now.
Sarah: Tomorrow come at home and i show you to my parents again and we plan our wedding.
The following day i dressed up like a man ready to take someones daughter, went with my friend and she waited for us on the junction.
We reached at their home and they gave us a welcome.My friend told them that we want their daughter in marriage.
Her dad started speaking: i never wanted my daughter to be married to you before because of our conflicts between families.
But may God forgive me, it seems that’s how it was meant to be.

As we said Amen, the next step was going to Somalia where my parents were and we do our wedding.
I went with her and my friend together with her brother as we left for Somalia. Soon as we had left Nairobi, a bus that was coming towards us lost control.
When i woke up in the hospital ward, my friend was lying next to me as doctors were preparing his body to mortuary.
Sarah for her she died on spot as soon as the vehicle we were in crashed with the bus.
Sarah’s brother’s leg was cut and he is now moving with one leg and supporters Sarah’s dad told me as he found me in the hospital “be brave my son, everything goes as it was meant to be.
Don’t be discouraged, that’s life” his words did something in my heart.
I was 21 years then now am 26 years but since then i have never fallen in love with any girl neither do i feel like marrying again

Thoughts on Today’s Verse
The Lord Jesus Christ is portrayed as the unique Son of God, Who was chosen before the foundation of the world, to be the sinner’s Saviour. He offered His life as the sacrifice for sin, and died to pay the price for the sin of the whole world. And by His resurrection from the dead, the only begotten Son of God received His Father’s stamp of approval, and was given complete authority, in heaven and on earth.
This verse indicates that the Son of God, Himself, is speaking these words in Psalm 2, for we read: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.. and on three further occasions these exact words were quoted in the New Testament – ‘You are My Son. Today I have begotten You, demonstrating the significance of this authoritative title.
There are a number of ways that Christ can be identified as the unique, Son of God. Being the third member of the Trinity, the Son of God has been with the Father from all eternity, and His incarnation at Bethlehem was that historic point, when the Son of God was dressed in mortal flesh and became the Son of Man – the Word made flesh – the incarnate God.
In various passages, the Son of God is trumpeted as the first-born from the dead, and because He lives, we.. who have trusted His name, for the forgiveness of sins, will also rise to life immortal. And in the near future, this same Son of God, will be crowned as King of kings and Lord of lords, when He comes to rule and reign, in His future, millennial kingdom.
In this verse, God the Father is proclaiming that Christ is His chosen, anointed King. God’s promise to David, that a Man would sit upon his throne forever, is realised in the Person of Christ, through His sacrificial work on the cross and His glorious resurrection from the dead. Indeed, the Father’s promise to the Son continues:- Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.
At Christ’s first coming He called Israel to repentance, He preached the gospel of the kingdom and He reiterated the sovereign decree.. that the Almighty Father declared to the Son of His love: You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. During His life, Christ only did those things that His Fher told Him to do, and He only said the Words, which He heard from above.. but they rejected Him, and crucified Him. Those HE came to save screamed:– we will not let this Man rule over us. His blood be upon us and on our children’s children.
His sacrificial blood is indeed, on ALL who believe in Christ for salvation and trust His Word. And for a time.. the kingdom of God, which was promised to Israel, has had to be postponed, while the Lord called out of the Gentiles a people for His name – who would proclaim the gospel of grace, far and wide, and make disciples of every nation.
But the title, the name, the ministry, the sacrificial work and the decree of the LORD, which was given to the unique Son of God, stands fast for ever and ever:– You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.. for He was chosen before the foundation of the world to be the sinner’s Saviour. Christ offered His life as the sacrifice for the sin of the whole world, and died to pay the price for your transgressions and for mine. And by faith in His name, we too will rise from the dead – and will live with Him forever – praise His holy name,
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that You purposed to redeem mankind, through the sacrifice of a Kinsman-Redeemer – and decreed that the eternal Son of God would be born into the human race as the perfect Son of Man. Thank You that He took the punishment for our sins, so that by faith in Him, we also might be adopted into Your family and become sons of the living God. Thank You that the day is coming when He will be proclaimed King of kings and Lord of Lords, in His everlasting kingdom. Thank You that I am part of Your eternal family and that Christ is my Saviour – in Whose name I pray, AMEN
THE NAKED TRUTH OF LIFE
There was a man with four wives. He loved his fourth wife the most and took great care of her and gave her the best.
He also loved his third wife and always wanted to show her off to his friends. However, he always had a fear that she might runaway with some other man.
He loved his second wife too. Whenever he faced some problems, he always turned to his second wife and she would always help him out.
He did not love his first wife though she loved him deeply, was very loyal to him and took great care of him.
One day the man fell very ill and knew that he is going to die soon. He told himself, “I have four wives. I will take one of them along with me when I die to keep me company in my death.”
Thus, he asked the fourth wife to die along with him and keep him company. “No way!” she replied and walked away without another word.
He asked his third wife. She said “Life is so good over here. I’m going to remarry when you die”
He then asked his second wife. She said “I’m Sorry. I can’t help you this time around. At the most I can only accompany you till your grave.”
By now his heart sank and he turned cold. Then a voice called out: “I’ll go with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.”
The man looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the man said, “I should have taken much better care of you while I could have!”
Actually, we all have four wives in our lives.
a. The fourth wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it’ll leave us when we die.
b. The third wife is our possession, status and wealth. When we die, they go to others.
c. The second wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we’re alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
d. The first wife is our soul, neglected in our pursuit of material wealth and pleasure. It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go.

Most of us have read enough and been through enough to know the signs to look out for that indicate a relationship’s gone toxic.
We pretty instinctively recognize a dating red flag when it pops up on the first meeting with someone, and consciously try to avoid the codependency that comes with losing our identity to our partner.

1. You like doing things together
This might seem obvious, but if you’re in a relationship with someone, you should actually enjoy being with each other. 2. You can relax with each other

3. You know how to fight fair

According to Gottman, the first three minutes of a fight are crucial, as they set the tone for how the rest of the discussion will go, and should ideally be a ‘soft startup,’ which means you don’t begin an argument by attacking your partner.
Fighting can feel upsetting and awful, but if you and your partner are able to have constructive arguments that end with both of you feeling heard and loved, you’re doing great. And wouldn’t it be sad if neither of you cared enough to fight about anything, ever?
4. You both admit when you’re wrong — and say you’re sorry
Love definitely does mean having to say you’re sorry. Part of knowing how to fight is being able to admit when you screwed up — and apologize for it.

Sure, you’re there for each other when things go wrong — but how do you respond when things are going great for your partner? Experts say that’s often more important to a relationship.
UC Santa Barbara associate professor of psychology, Dr. Shelly Gable conducted an experiment in which she asked couples to talk about negative and positive things that had happened to them recently, then categorized their partner’s response on a scale of most destructive to most helpful. Gable found praise for positive things made the most impact on people, even more than sympathy for sad stuff. The worst reaction was passivity, no matter what people were responding to.
Being happy and enthusiastic about your partner’s success is a recipe for a healthy, happy relationship.
7. You laugh together
Have you ever fallen in love with someone who didn’t make you laugh? Nope? There’s a reason for that. Getting each other’s sense of humor, cracking each other up, being playful together — all these things are clues that your relationship is firing on all cylinders. Plus, having a sense of humor makes life a lot more fun, and sharing it with your partner is key.
When the laughter starts to die out of your relationship, it’s a surefire sign the spark has faded.
8. You can have comfortable silences
When you can be quiet together and neither of you is simmering with resentment or desperately wondering how to break the silence, it’s a beautiful thing.
You don’t have to talk all the time when you’re in a healthy relationship. You can let conversation ebb and flow, work or read side by side comfortably, and not get scared that something is wrong.
